Enjoying a sense of community with other followers of Jesus is crucial to our spiritual health. One of the best ways to experience community with other followers of Jesus is through involving yourself in a small group. When times of trouble come (and they always do), it helps to have a group of people who lend support and encouragement. Our group names, times, and brief descriptions are listed below. Sunday Morning Small Groups
Christian Builders: “It’s a great group…a diversity of ages and lifestyles makes for an interesting discussion… everyone cares about each other.” Gail Portenier leads this coed group for all ages on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in our Sunday Café room. Call Gail at (402) 645-8090 to get involved.
Doulos (means “slave”): “I like the fellowship and it’s a great start to a Sunday!” Bryan Davidson leads this coed group of mixed ages on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in the Doulos room at the back of the sanctuary. Call or text Bryan at (402) 239-1736 to get involved.
Hedraios (means “steadfast”): “I like the people—caring, sharing—a good group, and we are flexible.” This coed group meets each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. in our church library/conference room to enjoy fellowship and study of God’s Word… and they have their own coffee!
Rise-N-Shine: “I enjoy the open atmosphere as we share what God is doing in our lives.” Clayton Lundstedt leads this coed group of mixed ages on our lower level in the “corner stone” room on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. (and we have our own coffee bar!). Son Seekers: “We are very open and accepting. I feel welcome and at home.” Fred Stevens (and others) lead this coed group of Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in our fellowship hall. Call Fred at (660) 582-1414 to get involved.
The Gathering: This coed group started last spring with a focus on fellowship and community while digging into spiritual things. This group is led by Aaron and Christy Loos, and gathers in the first room you find on our lower level on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Call or text Christy at (402) 613-3406 to get involved.
Mid-Week Small Groups
Men’s Group: “Calling all men!” We will have just one men’s group this fall, meeting Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in our Sunday Café room. If you’ve been missing the interaction and encouragement of other Christian men, we invite you to come and experience our men’s group.
Armor of God: This group is for women who desire to grow in their relationship with God but maybe aren’t sure where to start. You will learn how to connect with God through digging into the Bible. Brook McKernan and Doreen Williams lead this group of women on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. at Doreen’s home in Blue Springs. Overcomers: This group is for women of all ages and walks of life who crave to dig deep into the raw and real circumstances of life’s everyday challenges while cultivating their lives around biblical truth. Christ’s Quarry: “Mining God’s Word for its hidden treasures!” This small group for women spends time digging into God’s Word, then praying for all those who will be in our building at other times. Sisters-in-Christ: “We have an encouraging and uplifting time together. Great study time and great fellowship time.” Martha McCarthy leads this group of mainly older ladies on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in our Sunday Café room.
